Position Summary

The lead research engineer will be involved in research and development in the areas of multi-view vision, visual tracking, and detection/classification for use in surveillance systems and visual analytics software.  High-level responsibilities include developing, implementing, and extending the algorithms and software underlying the overall system.  Collaboration with other researchers and engineers involved in the project is expected. The engineer reports directly to the Project Director, and Afilonís Chief Scientist.

Duties

  • Define & present R&D objectives & plans.
  • Conduct R&D in multi-view vision tracking and complex video analytics.
  • Given math formulation develop parallel algorithms in multi GPU systems.
  • Code and optimize functional programs; test, document, report outcomes.
  • Manage & integrate complex enterprise IT systems.
  • Implement algorithms given mathematical formulation and implement fully functional programs with appropriate user interface.
  • Debugging, profiling, unit testing, and documentation.
  • Strong development skills in C++.  MATLAB experience preferred.
  • Experience on programming with GPUs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

Educational Requirements

Required MS or PhD in CS, EE, Robotics, Math or related field with strong math & algorithms background.
